Jen Young is a creative entrepreneur, yoga teacher, ecstatic dance facilitator, performer and writer.
Ultimately, her work is about personal growth through physical movement, creativity, imagination and connection to the natural world. Because when people have the tools they need to heal and express who they authentically are, the world also heals.
Jen teaches yoga one-on-one and in group class settings. Through Spitfire Fitness Arts, she offers healing programs, such as Belly Love 30 Day Challenge and Belly Love Day.
Jen incorporated Spitfire Fitness Arts, LLC in April 2010 to bring fitness education to busy moms. She has worked in the fitness industry as a personal trainer and group instructor since 2002.
She has worked as a production assistant for video productions and documentaries with companies such as Charles Guggenheim Productions, Cherchez La Femme Productions and Discovery Channel. She held advertising positions with Hanley-Wood Publishers and Washington City Paper. She was Senior Associate with PBS, Adult Learning Service.
She has performed as physical actor and dancer in the Washington, DC area since 1996. She performed with Naoko Maeshiba's Kibism 2002-2009.
